Unit of Inquiry:

In continuation with the 1st line of inquiry ‘Kinds of transport’, reinforcement on types of planes was undertaken.

To enhance  experimental and contextual learning, students inquired into the working of a hot air balloon through an experiment. A bottle with a balloon covering it’s mouth was placed in  hot water and observed how the  hot air inflates the balloon . The scientific concept of hot air being lighter was highlighted through this experiment.

Students were introduced to the sound ‘v’ through picture cards and online videos. They further made illustrations related to the same in their process journals. As a follow up, they traced letter ‘v’ on sand paper and practiced writing it on the slate to improve directionality for writing the letter.

The letter- sounds (o, c, l, t, i) already undertaken in the class were reinforced using slates for strengthening the correct writing directionality.
